Want to build your list & get more clients? Start here…
Do you have a long list of items you feel you should be focusing on in order to grow your business?
If so, you’re likely feeling overwhelmed and having a difficult time prioritizing and getting things done.
Or maybe you are accomplishing a lot, but aren’t seeing results. This could be because you’re not focusing on the essential areas.
It can be challenging to determine where to spend your time when you hear that you “must” have a blog, be active on social media, run group programs, form partnerships, do list building, do search engine optimization, have a WordPress website, etc.
We are constantly hearing about all these things we should be doing to grow our business, and it becomes difficult to focus and prioritize the tasks or projects that will lead to more clients and more revenue.
Today I am going to share the 4 essentials that will allow you to:
- build a list of ideal clients
- build trust with your audience and be seen as an expert
- convert people on your list to becoming paying clients
The 4 Essentials:
1. Have a website
If you’re just starting out, don’t worry about having the perfect website. Your website can be upgraded over time. You simply want to make sure you have a website, so you can leverage the world of online marketing.
If you attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, you were given a free website by the school and it is totally fine to start out using this website.
2. Offer a free gift
Having a free gift on your website will incentivize people to give you their name and email and join your list.
If your free gift speaks to a problem that your ideal clients struggle with, this will set you up as an expert in their eyes – as someone who can help them.
As people join your list, you have the opportunity to build trust with them and market to them in the future.
3. Make it easy for people schedule an initial consultation
If you want more private clients, make it easy for them to set-up a time for a free or low-cost initial consultation with you.
I suggest that you set up an online scheduling system such as Time Trade. Then, have a couple of places on your website where you make an invitation for the initial consultation and link directly to your online scheduling system.
Setting up Time Trade was critical in my business because it not only allowed me to save time and avoid all the back and forth of emailing with potential clients, but I also found that when I made it easy for prospective clients to schedule that I started having more consultations each week.
4. Put out regular content
As you are building your list, you want to stay in touch with your audience and build trust with them. The most effective way to do this is by sending out a regular newsletter or ezine.
Your ezine content will set you up as an expert and will keep you “top of mind” with your audience.
Your newsletter or ezine should ideally come out weekly, but if you’re just starting out, you can send it out every other week and ramp up to weekly.
By sending out regular content, you will find that your audience is much more responsive when you send out promotional emails about your upcoming programs.
Whether you are just starting out or have been in business for a while, you’ll want to make sure you have these essentials set-up.
No more wondering if you are focusing your energy in the right places!
