Grow Your List With Facebook’s New Call-to-Action Button

I’m convinced that the old saying, “Nothing stays the same except change” is the driving mission statement over at Facebook Headquarters. I can’t think of another company that implements, monitors, tweaks and grows more often than Facebook.

Luckily for you and me many of the changes Facebook executes actually makes it easier for marketers like us to reach our ideal target audience.

The most recent addition to the Facebook marketing tool chest is a “Call-to-Action” button on our business page.

First, let’s talk about why the call-to-action button is so powerful for your business then I’ll show you how you can set it up on your page.

The call-to-action button is designed to easily send your prospective new lead to any page that makes sense for your business.

Simply put, you can drive qualified traffic to any sales or registration page and the best part is that it doesn’t cost you a dime.

Here are 3 examples of how you can benefit from the call-to-action button on your Facebook Business Page:

  1. List Growth: Lead magnet registration page that captures a name & email
  2. Increase Sales: Sales page for a program that you are currently promoting
  3. Program Promotion/List Growth: Webinar registration page

The opportunities to grow your list and make more sales with this highly prominent button are truly unlimited.

Next let me show you how easy it is to set up.

First, locate the button, which is in the bottom right-hand corner of your Facebook Business Page cover photo.

Once located, click the dropdown arrow on the right.

Then click the “Edit Call-to-Action” option.

From there you’ll simply choose the button that works best for your intention, then enter the URL where you want to send your new lead, (like an opt-in registration page).

Lastly, just click the next button. It will take you through a couple of screens that show you what it will look like on mobile devices. Click the ‘next’ button again, then the ‘save changes’ button.

That’s it! You are all set. Pretty easy, right? (Note: Be sure to test the button and the URL link to verify that it works.)

Now let’s talk about analyzing your results. Since setting up my Call-to-Action button about a month ago I have consistently had 5-8 people a week grabbing my free offer.

Which means, each month I can expect 20-30 new organic leads on my email list that are 100% free because of Facebook’s “Call-to-Action” button.

To wrap up, here are a few recommendations to get you started.

  1. Redesign your Facebook cover image like I have done to include an arrow that draws attention to the button.
  2. Switch up your offer or promotion every 2-4 weeks to keep it fresh and relevant.
  3. Check the link once per week to make sure it’s still working. You don’t want any missed opportunities to capture a name and email address to build your list.

I just wish you could change the wording.
I hate the term sign up. No one wants to sign up for things these days.

I would rather say Don’t Miss Out or Join My Tribe or Free Recipes

Teniel I couldn’t agree more. I’m hoping they will add, “download” or “register”. I’m sure it’s coming! Facebook is always upgrading their marketing tools. 🙂

In the meantime I highly recommend setting it up. I’ve been getting between 6 – 10 “sign-ups” per week so it definitely works.
